LSMS CLASSWORK vs HOMEWORK
6th grade:
Unlike elementary school, there is no weekly homework, except reading. Students are expected to use their class time to finish assignments. Any unfinished classwork is then homework.
Students checklist:
□Reading AR book. THIRTY minutes every night.
□Any class work not completed in class.
□Vocabulary practice as needed
□Mini-projects as assigned
□Review/study for upcoming assessment
Student Support
Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) is a short period of time daily to reteach or retake assessments. Students should be completing study guides, missing practice assignments, and reading at home , NOT during ELO.
Homework Tips:
· Stay informed
· Structure a quiet place in the house
· Be positive and help with time management
· Set a routine
· Provide guidance, not answers
